What is the difference between Ice Makers & Ice Machines?

Put simply, Ice Makers & Ice Machines function differently. Ice Makers bring the water into the product, freezes it into cubes, and releases the frozen cubes into an ice bucket. The ice stays frozen and the product does not make more until it senses the ice bucket is low. Ice Machines require a drain and have a more complex functionality. Our Clear Ice Machine brings the water in and freezes it in layers, and any impurities are discarded. Once a pure ice cube is formed, the ice is released into the ice bin. The ice bin does not act as a freezer, but rather a cooler - ensuring the cubes remain clear. Nugget Ice Machines bring water in and freezes it, and an auger rotates to create ice shavings. The ice shavings are then compacted into a cylindrical shape and are pushed into the ice bin. The nugget ice bin also acts as a cooler - ensuring the cubes are separated and easy to serve.
